Day 11: The question for you is if the picture is upside down?
A day in solitude. Oden was immobile during the day. Science on the ice. The days are passing, and we have already made 11 days out at sea. Still some days to go before moving homewards. The status of the fjord was a surprise to the glacier experts. Half of the fjord is open and the other covered with a mish mash of ice and ice bergs. The ice breaks up here and there but not enough for Oden to break through. Outside the fjord at the mouth there are an open water area. There is a mish mass of icebergs closer to the glacier front, not a clear cut. We are continuing doing remote measurements, using the helicopter. Yesterday we deployed our underwater robot LoLo, performing alignment test of the inertial system. We towed it near to the shore and got the chance to see the details of the Arctic landscape. There was no wind and the sun was up (24 hours). It was beautiful. We continued doing tests until Oden called us back. The results were satisfying. Next step is to dive and do some additional tests. The photo I attached shows an ice berg in zero sea state. The question for you is if the picture is upside down?
